From August 28 to September 1, the world's top 17 female surfers will be in France for the year's 4th stop (of 8) on the ASP Women's World tour. The contest is the girls' only event in Europe for 2008 and one of the year's most popular stops.
The 2008 Roxy Jam Cardiff will take place September 19th - 21st at Cardiff Reef in San Diego, CA. Top female surfers from around the world will be competing for a tidy prize purse and some much-coveted ranking points.
The Roxy Jam Honolulu is now on at Queens Beach, Honolulu. This 3-star Association of Surfing Professionals contest, now in its second year, is the only ASP sanctioned longboarding event scheduled for Hawaii in 2008 and will bring together more than 80 world class female longboarders from around the globe. The Roxy ASP Women’s World Longboard Championships (WWLC) edged closer to the finale today after both Round 3 and 4 were wrapped up in good 2-3 foot waves at Cotes des Basques. From the 48 female longboarders who surfed in the event on Day 1, just eight remain in contention for the prestigious 2008 ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion crown.

Billabong's 2nd Annual Design for Humanity event was an unforgettable night of art, fashion and music, which included a Billabong runway show featuring one-of-a-kind celebrity designs, an art show including photography sponsored by Surfing magazine, and a live concert by electro-pop superstars MGMT, sounds by DJ Steve Aoki. Opening the fashion show was Australia's singer/songwriter Ashleigh Mannix debuting "Hallelujah" for the first time in the United States. This event was a benefit for the Surfrider Foundation over $75K raised so far.
